Copying devices from other projects

You can copy devices from one project to another in the Add devices dialog box.

When copying a device the instance parameters, I/O configuration (modules and data points), and assignment data of the source device are copied into the newly created device.

Copy a device from another project

  1. You have another project which contains devices.
  2. You know the password of the other project.
  1. In Building > Building structure, right-click a building or building element and select Add devices.
  2. The Add devices dialog box opens.
  3. Open Device types > External projects.
    Alternatively, open Reference project and click Open to select a project from your file system, which you my have received by email.
  4. Expand your projects to see all devices contained in the projects.

  6. Select a device.
  7. Click Next.
  8. In the Number of new devices field, type the number of devices to be created.
  9. The table is updated automatically and shows the entered number of devices.
  10. Enter the details such as network address, equipment ID etc.
    Click OK.
  1. The new devices are added to your building structure.
