Exporting a BACnet/SC operational certificate signing request
This procedure describes how to change the certification authority (CA) from internal to external for individual devices.
Export a certificate signing request together with an operational certificate for individual devices and hand them over on a file level to the external CA for signing. Import an externally signed certificate to a device in ABT Site. After the import the CA is changed from internal to external.
Export a certificate signing request
- The device supports operational certificates.
- The device has a valid serial number.
- Open Building > Certificates management.
- Select at least one device with external certificate type.
- Select the BACnet/SC tab.
- Click Export CSR.
- The files *.csr and *.txt are exported.

You can deliver the file to a certification authority for signing. - Note: The file *.csr contains a file header. The *.txt does not have a header.

- The device supports operational certificates.
- The device has a valid serial number.
- Open Building > Building structure.
- Select at least one device with external certificate type.
- Open the Details pane.
- Do the following:
- for the device version ≤ 1.5: select the BACnet/SC tab.
- for the device version ≥ 1.6: select the Certificates tab and select the BACnet/SC certificate section.
- Click Export certificate signing request.
- The files *.csr and *.txt are exported.
