Suppressing alarms during commissioning or maintenance

The engineer or commissioning specialist can temporary suppress alarm and fault messages of parts of the system (for example an automation station) during testing. The tests can include commissioning or maintenance tasks. After finishing the tasks the operator can switch the alarm and fault messages back on again. After the alarms are switched on again, only alarm and fault messages are displayed, which are new compared to the status before switching off alarms.

Suppress alarms

  1. The device is connected, and the program is running.
  1. Open an Engineering session in one of the editors.
    • Go to Engineering > I/O configuration or Modbus or BACnet objects.
    • Or go to Engineering > Programming.
  2. Click Suppress alarms .
  3. Alarms are temporarily suppressed.
  4. To switch alarms back on again, click .
