Importing an IEEE 802.1X operational certificate from an external CA
Renew an external operational certificate
- You have an externally signed certificate.
Exporting the IEEE 802.1X root certificate
- Open Building > Certificates management.
Certificates management - Select at least one device with external certificate type.
Note: During import, the corresponding certificate is assigned to the associated controller without having previously selected it. - Select the IEEE 802.1X tab.
- Click Import external.
- Select the certificate file.
- Click Open.
- The operational certificate is renewed.
- The validity date of the operational certificate is extended.
- Do the following:
- First time: Download the new operational certificate.
Downloading a control program to a device - Second time: Download the new operational certificate with Only updated certificates.
Downloading an updated certificate to a device
OR
Renew an external operational certificate from device details
- Open Building > Building structure.
- Select at least one device with external certificate type.
Note: During import, the corresponding certificate is assigned to the associated controller without having previously selected it. - Open the Details pane.
- Select Certificates.
- In the X802.1 certificate section, click Import certificate.
- Click Open.
- The operational certificate is renewed.
- The validity date of the operational certificate is extended.
- Do the following:
- First time: Download the new operational certificate.
Downloading a control program to a device - Second time: Download the new operational certificate with Only updated certificates.
