Connecting directly to a room operator unit

A interface cable (i.e. OCI702 service interface) connects the commissioning laptop directly to a QMX3 room operator unit.

Connect to a room operator unit

  1. A USB port is configured on the laptop.
  2. A USB cable is available (type A plug on one end and type B on the other).
  3. The QMX3 room operator unit is wired to the device via KNX PL-Link.
  1. Plug in the USB cable from the commissioning laptop into the USB socket on the OCI702 service interface.
  2. Plug a cable into the KNX PL-Link socket on the OCI702 service interface.
  3. Connect the KNX PL-Link cable from the OCI702 service interface to the QMX3 room unit.
  4. In the Common toolbar, select the arrow beside the Connect button.
  5. Select the Room unit connection tab.
  6. Click Connect.
  7. The connection is made to device through the room operator unit.
  8. Select Startup > Configure and download.
    The device can now be discovered.
