Supply chain free cooling (SplyFreeC11)

Overview

The application function "Supply chain free cooling 11" (SplyFreeC11) manages the delivery of chilled water in situations that require almost zero energy expenditure. Typical applications are chiller plants that cool the water with recoolers when outside conditions are favorable.


Note: Free cooling requires project specific engineering:

Function

Sequence: When conditions are favorable (chilled water temperature = FreeCTChw) the central plant can distribute the signal that free cooling is available (FreeCAvl) via SplyChw-Grouping to the rooms. The rooms can take this offer and go to Comfort conditions to use the free energy to cool with Comfort setpoints.

The demand for free cooling comes back to AF SplyChw11, via the enumerated chilled water demand signal ChwDmd.

Value 3 and 4 set the cooling generation to FreeCooling at the primary chilled water generation (for example, CGen10 in Desigo).

 

Note: Free cooling logic
The activation and distribution of the FreeCReq goes via the CenOpMod application and group.
But the demand for Free cooling comes via AF SplyChw11, using ChwDmd via SplyChw group .
