Changing the rules for object names and building elements only affects newly created objects. Existing objects are not renamed. Therefore, we recommend setting up object naming rules before starting to work on a project.

Autonumbering – Name pattern

Names and descriptions of some of the objects can be automatically extended by a number. The name pattern is defined by a fix part (e.g. AS_ for automation stations) and an auto-number part (e.g. {2} for 2 leading zeros).

In the Default names area, enter the default names for newly created elements. The default values are as follows.

Description

Manage device location property in building structure

Selected by default.
If selected, the default location of devices is managed automatically, and the location name cannot be changed. Clear the check box if you want to change a location of a device manually.

Move rooms with automation station

Cleared by default.
If selected, the rooms are moved to the same location when automation stations are moved. Clear the check box if you want to manage the location of rooms separately.

Naming rules for free programming must be adjusted in ABT Pro. The naming rules set in Settings > Naming defaults only apply to ABT Site.
