Setting the MS/TP Max server value

Use this procedure to set the MS/TP Max server value for all MS/TP devices on a network.

Set the Max server address

  1. Open Startup > Configure and download.
  2. Discover the devices to verify that all devices are communicating.
  3. In the Discovered devices tab, select a configured device.
  4. Right-click and select Set Max Server for all devices on network.
  5. Enter a value that is as great as the highest MAC address on the network (Auto, 1 to 127).
  1. The project data for the device instances will be updated automatically.

For freely programmable devices, the project data for each device instance must be updated from ABT Pro by selecting the Advanced component.
Advanced

Any additional device created on this network must be configured with the same Max server value. Ensure that the Max server setting is greater than the highest MAC address on the network (including the router). If not, then communication with these devices will be negatively impacted.
