Top-down workflow
I want to use an existing plant as a starting point and modify it for my customer-specific plant.
Create a project
1 | Create an ABT project. | |
2 | Define passwords for all users in ABT Site > Settings > User profiles. |
Define the project settings
1 | Select the pre-configuration file for the library behavior in the project. | |
2 | Select the desired notification class template for the behavior in the project. | |
3 | Define building names in Settings > Naming defaults > Object names tab. | |
4 | Define ranges for network properties of automation stations in Settings > Number ranges. |
Create a building structure
1 | Go to Building > Building structure. | |
2 | Define a building structure (buildings, building elements). |
Add a device
1 | Add a device. |
Add a plant
1 | Add a plant: -- Drag a plant from the Library to Add plant in the Plants navigation view. | |
2 | (Optional) Rename the plant. | |
3 | Get an overview of the plant: -- In Plants navigation view, expand the chart list to see all elements of the plant. -- In Plants navigation view, expand the Field devices folder to see all field devices. -- In the Field programming editor, zoom and scroll to see details. | Plants navigation view |
Change a program block
1 | Drag a new program block from the Library to the chart. | |
2 | Rename the program block. | |
3 | Show and hide pins. | |
4 | Connect the I/Os to the new program block. | |
5 | Delete the existing program block. |
Change an I/O
1 | Create and assign TX & Onboard I/Os. | |
2 | Change an I/O: -- Drag a new I/O from the Library to the chart. | |
3 | Show and hide pins. | |
4 | Connect the new I/O to the program block. | |
5 | Delete the existing I/O. |
Save a solution to the Custom library
1 | Add one or more elements or the entire plant from the chart to the Custom library. |
Load the program on the device
1 | Load the program on the device. | Installing an ABT project (no subcontracting) |
